Unofficial World Champions Games

Games of the unofficial champions of the world. For many centuries (before 1886), there was no formal world chess championship, but a line of players regarded as the strongest or the most famous of their time were sometimes considered the world champions of the world.
All the games are in PGN (Portable Game Notation) format. To see the games you can download a program from the Download Zone or you can use a Chess Database Management program like ChessBase or Chess Assistant.
